Spain: connect the offer to the licensed activity

Spain’s DGOJ publishes licensed-operator information. Use it as the starting point for national online gambling checks. A Spanish-language promotion on a multinational website does not establish that the offer belongs to the locally authorised account or service.

The key points
  • National permission matters more than international branding.
  • Check the company, domain and game category together.
  • Promotions never override local law or protective measures.

The local distinction that matters

Match the contracting company and domain rather than only the trading name, then establish the activity covered. The local and international versions of a familiar brand can have different entities and terms. Save the local conditions displayed to the account rather than importing a multiplier from an international review.

Protection and practical limits

Advertising requirements are sensitive to legal updates. This guide does not repeat historical welcome-bonus waiting periods as if they were timeless rules. Record the date of the promotion and check current DGOJ information when evaluating an incentive or dispute.

Follow the local contract after a redirect

Suppose a Spanish article links to an international promotion, while the account eventually opens on a local domain. The headline terms might not be the terms accepted by that account. Compare the company, website and product in the DGOJ information with the contract shown after the redirect. Save that final local version. A comparison based on another country’s match percentage can be irrelevant even when the brand name matches.

Date promotional claims carefully

A legal rule quoted in an old Spanish bonus article may have been affected by subsequent legislation or court decisions. The safer editorial statement identifies the dated source and checks current DGOJ guidance rather than presenting a historical waiting period as timeless. For an existing dispute, the date matters twice: when the offer was made and when the relevant obligation arose. Preserve both. A current marketing page cannot necessarily explain the version accepted months earlier.

Common questions

Are foreign and Spanish brand terms interchangeable?

No. Confirm the local entity, domain and contract.

Does a licence listing guarantee a particular bonus?

No. Permission to operate and the conditions or legality of a promotion are separate checks.
