Game contribution: credited turnover is not stake size
Where lawful terms use contribution percentages, only part of a stake may count toward a wagering requirement. This is an accounting rule, not a measure of the chance of winning.

- A €5 stake at twenty-percent contribution adds €1 to qualifying turnover.
- A game that contributes zero may still be permitted for ordinary cash play, or it may be prohibited while the bonus is active.
- Higher contribution does not eliminate the possibility of loss.
Calculate the credited amount
A €5 stake at twenty-percent contribution adds €1 to qualifying turnover. If every eligible wager used that same contribution, €500 of credited turnover would require €2,500 of actual stakes. These are hypothetical calculations, not suggested amounts to gamble. National rules can forbid partial contribution; Denmark’s current guidance requires one hundred percent for every game permitted for fulfilment.
Distinguish exclusion from low contribution
A game that contributes zero may still be permitted for ordinary cash play, or it may be prohibited while the bonus is active. Those are different conditions. The first means no progress; the second can create an alleged breach. A table of percentages should be read together with restricted-game lists and game versions, including whether live and automated variants are treated differently.
Do not choose games to chase a counter
Higher contribution does not eliminate the possibility of loss. It also does not make a game appropriate for someone who did not intend to play it. A contribution table should explain why a progress counter changed, not encourage additional gambling. If a percentage is missing or a game appears under two categories, resolve the ambiguity before placing any stake.
A detail worth checking
Contribution can also depend on the source of the stake. A rule might distinguish cash play from promotional play or only count transactions after activation. A game-category table therefore does not always answer every progress question. Check the start event and any settled-transaction requirement. If a round begins before expiry and settles afterwards, ask how the contract treats that timing. The relevant evidence is the accepted rule and transaction record. Avoid reconstructing the position from a progress bar alone, particularly when the interface updates in batches rather than after each completed round.
Worked example · hypothetical
A progress discrepancy
A hypothetical €10 stake moves a counter by €2. If the accepted terms specify twenty-percent contribution, the arithmetic reconciles. If they specify full contribution, preserve the game title, timestamp and transaction reference and ask for correction. Do not place further wagers merely to test whether the error repeats.
- Identify the relevant account event and preserve its original wording.
- Separate known facts from assumptions before drawing a conclusion.
- Use the applicable official source or complaint route when a material question remains.

Common questions
Does zero contribution mean the game is forbidden?
Not automatically. Check whether the term excludes it from progress or prohibits play during the promotion.
Are partial rates universal in Europe?
No. Denmark is a clear counterexample under its current official guidance.
