Euro examples and non-euro accounts
Not every EU country uses the euro, and even an account displayed in euros may involve a payment account in another currency. Conversion can affect deposits, thresholds and withdrawals separately.

- A minimum deposit or maximum stake should be read in the currency specified by the terms.
- The bank, payment provider and gambling account may each apply their own conversion or fee.
- An account result and a currency gain or loss are different components.
Keep the contract currency
A minimum deposit or maximum stake should be read in the currency specified by the terms. A publisher’s converted estimate is not necessarily the contractual amount. Exchange rates and rounding can cause a payment that looked sufficient in one currency to fall below a threshold in another. Do not send another payment merely to repair an unexplained discrepancy.
Identify every conversion step
The bank, payment provider and gambling account may each apply their own conversion or fee. A displayed deposit amount may therefore differ from the debit on the bank statement. On withdrawal, another conversion can occur. Record the original amount, credited amount, rate and fee where available instead of comparing only the final number.
Separate exchange movement from gambling outcome
An account result and a currency gain or loss are different components. Mixing them can make a losing gambling session appear profitable or make a payment discrepancy hard to explain. For a complaint, show the account ledger and payment statement in their original currencies, with conversion shown as a separate calculation.
A detail worth checking
Dates are important for cross-currency evidence. A bank may authorise a transaction on one day and settle it on another, potentially displaying different provisional and final amounts. Save the final statement and any fee breakdown. Do not compare a provisional debit with a settled withdrawal as though both used the same rate. If an account changes its base currency, ask how existing promotional thresholds and balances are treated before accepting the change. The operator’s display, bank statement and promotion contract each describe a different part of the transaction.
Worked example · hypothetical
A threshold example
A hypothetical minimum is 200 units of the account currency. A bank debit equivalent to roughly that amount may credit only 198 after a fee or rate change. The discrepancy needs explanation; it does not automatically mean the advertised threshold was met. Preserve both records rather than relying on a rounded euro estimate.
- Identify the relevant account event and preserve its original wording.
- Separate known facts from assumptions before drawing a conclusion.
- Use the applicable official source or complaint route when a material question remains.
